camping and canoeing

This weekend I went with my parents up into the Unitas for a little hiking, a little canoe time and alot of fun camping around the beautiful Smith and Moorhouse reservoir! It was windy and the water on the lake was choppy and scared me while I was in the canoe! Hopefully next time the water will be better so I can have more fun!

Regardless of the torrential waters, I love to go hiking and camping and being out in the beautiful mountains!

Harry

When I was a puppy one of the first toys I received was a hedgehog named Harry. Harry to this day remains my favorite toy. I know him by name, when someone asks me to "get Harry" I always know which toy out of many is my beloved hedgehog Harry. Harry gets around, he is at grandma's and mommies houses. How he gets from place to place without my knowing is still a mystery to me. I usually keep pretty good tabs on my friend. It also is very strange that I will spend days playing and chewing and tugging on Harry until he gets a big hole in his fur and all of a sudden, Harry is a new hedgehog. No holes, no spit smell.. Harry is truly the best and trickest hedgehog in the whole world!

I thought I would pay tribute to my dear friend of tug-o-war today with some pictures of us in action.

It's Hard to be a Hawaiian Pug

I have been such a busy pug and on top of all the excitement it has been so incredibly hot in my hometown! All this black fur makes it really hard for me to be the summer pug that I am! Here is a picture of me trying to keep cool and take a pug nap! It's hard to be Hawaiian!

Time Flies

I can't believe that it has already almost been a month since my last post. I have been a very busy pug. My mommy married my daddy on June 30, 2007 in Hana Hawaii. They left me home for a few days which made me really sad but luckily my babysitter, John took me home to stay with him and his dog, Racer for a few days. I was very happy for their company. I even got to sleep on John's pillow and get a bath!

After not looking at or having anything to do with my family for awhile when they got home, I quickly forgave them when they told me that Pugs are not allowed into Hawaii for vacationing and that it really wasn't their fault that I couldn't go to the wedding. Pugs not allowed into Hawaii!!! That is a place I definently don't want to go, even if I could.

Since their return, I have been a busy girl moving into a new apartment and barking at all the people walking through my new territory. Someone has to protect the family! It hard to be a pug, but I'm up for the challenge!

I'll write more later. I am the guest of honor at a wedding party for my parents this weekend. I'll let you know how it goes!!

Life Lessons (from my perspective!)

1. Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joy ride.

2. Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure ecstasy.

3. When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.

4. When it's in your best interest, always practice obedience.

5. Enjoy it when someone wants to rub your tummy.

6. Take naps and always stretch before rising.

7. Run, romp, and play daily.

8. Eat with gusto and enthusiasm.

9. Be loyal.

10. Never pretend to be something you're not.

11. If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.

12. When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by and nuzzle them gently.

13. Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.

14. Thrive on attention and let people touch you.

15. Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.

16. On hot days, drink lots of water and lie under a shady tree.

17. When you are happy, dance around and wag your entire body.

18. No matter how often you are scolded, don't buy into the guilt thing and pout…
Run right back and make friends.

19. If it’s not wet and sloppy, it’s not a real kiss

Watching TV

Did I mention that I love to watch TV? I can sit for hours and hours and be totally captivated! I especially love when a dog or any animal comes on so I can bark and and try to attack it through the TV!!
